The Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (the 'Board') was established under the now repealed Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2001 and continued in existence under the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2017 (the 'Act').

Administrative and operational support to the Board
The Non-State Schools Accreditation Board Secretariat (the 'Secretariat') provides administrative and operational support to the Board. The Secretariat is part of the Department of Education.
Effects of functions on members of the community
The Board directly contributes towards the economic and social development of Queensland.
The Board assists in the promotion of excellence in education in the non-State schooling sector by the upholding of standards, the maintenance of public confidence and the fostering of educational choices. The Board also promotes the efficient use of Government resources by applying the legislated criteria for eligibility for Government funding in a just and impartial manner.
