Revised Guideline for educational programs for non-state schools

The Non-State Schools Accreditation Board has released a revised Guideline for educational programs for non-state schools.

The revised Guideline does not alter the purpose, the statement or philosophy and aims, nor the regulatory requirements applicable to educational programs.

The revised Guideline clarifies the statutory requirements for a non-state school’s written educational program under section 9 of the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Regulation 2017 and offers a framework to assist schools to demonstrate compliance and ensure the integrity of curriculum and learning outcomes for students are upheld.

Schools can now commence adopting the revised Guideline, with the existing Guideline remaining publicly available until 1 January 2026. Schools will remain compliant with the statutory requirements irrespective of the version of the Guideline they choose to follow. It is critical that schools take time to familiarise themselves with the revised Guideline prior to implementation.

For questions, queries or further information regarding the Guideline, please contact the Board’s secretariat staff Rachael Blaney, Tricia Denton or Kieryn McIlveen via phone on (07) 3513 6773 or email at nssab.admin@qed.qld.gov.au.
